Kofi Annan Due in Tehran on Sunday

Tehran, Jan 26, IRNA -- Former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan plans to pay an official visit to the Iranian capital on Sunday, foreign ministry's media diplomacy office said.

Annan will travel to Tehran at the head of a high-ranking delegation consisting of former Finnish President and Nobel prize winner Martti Oiva Kalevi Ahtisaari, Nobel Prize winner, peace activist and one of the anti-apartheid leaders in South Africa Desmond Tutu and former Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo.

Annan and his accompanying delegation are slated to have various meetings with senior Iranian officials on the latest developments in the region and on the international scene.
