Blast kills seven in NW Pakistan

Islamabad, Jan 23, IRNA -- Police in the Pakistani northwestern city of Peshawar says a blast killed at least seven people on Thursday.

Eleven other people were injured in the blast at a cars workshop, a police officer Rahim Shah said.

Police said nature of the blast is unclear and they are investigating.

The injured were taken to the city's main hospital in private vehicles. Doctors said three injured were registered critical.

Five vehicles at the workshop and a nearby mobile phone tower were destroyed.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that a bomb was planted at a car and was parked at the workshop.
