Car bomb hits Lebanon's Hermel city

Lebanon, Jan 16, IRNA – A car bomb exploded Thursday in the center of Hermel city, northeast of Lebanon, hiting the governor's office and two banks, IRNA correspondent reported.

Security forces have surrounded the site of the incident and ambulances are transferring the wounded to nearby hospitals.

Shiite city of Hermel is located some 90 km northeast of the Lebanese capital of Beirut.

During the past months, Hermel was repeatedly attacked by rockets and missiles of the terrorist group of Takfiris from the Syrian soil.

According to reports, Hermel's blast is likely to be a suicide attack.
