The Iranian, Russian and Syrian top diplomats are scheduled to take part in a trilateral meeting tomorrow (on Thursday).

Zarif is schedule to visit the Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during this visit and exchange viewpoints with them on bilateral ties, as well as regional and international developments.

The Syrian developments include one of the axes of Tehran-Moscow consultations in this visit and since the two capitals have shared viewpoints on many regional and international issues, it would be the details that are expected be focused on in those meetings.

The Iranian foreign minister will during his one day visit of Moscow also have a meeting with the Russian media activists, as well as one with a group of Russian thinkers and elites.

The Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mahdi Sana’ie told IRNA that the 11th government has a new approach about the international and diplomatic issues, and in this framework, further strengthening of relations with Russia, too, is in the government’s agenda.

Regarding the positive effect of the aligned Tehran-Moscow diplomatic relations on regional and international developments, Sana’ie said that the ongoing trend of negotiations between the two countries is quite satisfactory for the two sides.

Harmonizing efforts on regional and international developments and certain issues related to Iran’s nuclear talks with the G5+1 are the other axes of the Iranian foreign minister’s talks with the Russian officials.

Referring to the shared will of the Iranian and Russian officials for having a more dynamic diplomatic relation between the neighboring countries, he said that the Russian Deputy Prime Minister for Military Affairs Dmitri Rogozin two months ago visited Iran and the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov visited Tehran later on.

Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the occasion of Zarif’s visit on Wednesday, announcing that Iran-Russia relations are expanding rapidly and so are the dimensions of bilateral cooperation.

The statement argues that accordingly, the political and economic consultations will further expand, and so will the level of cooperation between the two countries.
