Turkish PM due in Iran on January 28

Ankara, Jan 15, IRNA – Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to arrive in Tehran on January 28 for a two-day visit, media department of Turkish prime minister's office said in an statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, a copy of which was faxed to IRNA office in Ankara, Erdogan will meet and confer with high-ranking Iranian officials during his stay in Tehran.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu after a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Istanbul earlier this month said that Erdogan was to pay a visit to Iran.

Davutoglu said that a decision on formation of High Iran-Turkey Cooperation Council will be made during Erdogan's visit to Tehran and that arrangements will be made for a visit to Ankara by President Hassan Rouhani.

IRNA reporter in Ankara said that during Erdogan's visit to Iran, the two sides will sign a trade agreement on preferential tariffs.
