Cuban Dy foreign minister: Iran to achieve significant success

Tehran, Jan 15, IRNA - Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister for International Affairs Abelardo Moreno said on Wednesday that he believes the Islamic Republic of Iran will attain significant successes in various fields.

The Cuban deputy foreign minister made the remarks in a meeting with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Europe-American Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi in Tehran.

In the meeting, the Cuban official congratulated his Iranian counterpart on November 24 accord inked between Iran and G5+1 on nuclear disoute and said there is no doubt that Iran will attain significant achievements in the future.

Takht-e Ravanchi, who is now touring the Latin American countries, also conferred with Cuban deputy foreign minister on issues of mutual interests along with regional developments.

He praised the Iranian diplomats for the diplomatic campaign they initiated to defend the country's legitimate rights.

The Iranian envoy, in the meeting, called for expansion of relations and cooperation between Tehran and Havana at international level.

The new Iranian government is to broaden the scope of cooperation with other countries and with Cuba in particular, Takht-e Ravanchi said.

They also exchanged views on broadening cooperation with NAM as well as with other regional and international organizations.

Takht-e Ravanchi is to confer with other Cuban officials on expansion of relations between countries and global developments.
