IAEA representatives due in Tehran in coming days: official

Tehran, Jan 13, IRNA – Representatives from the International Atomic Energy Agency will arrive in Tehran on January 18 to implement the Joint Plan of Action – known as Geneva Deal – between Iran and the P5+1, said spokesman of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran on Monday.

In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Behrouz Kamalvandi said an important part of implementation of the Joint Plan of Action relates to agreements already reached between Iran and the IAEA.

Implementation of these parts and the way of inspection and supervision is being discussed, Kamalvandi added.

He dismissed speculation by Reuters that the International Atomic Energy Agency is mulling to set up an office in Iran for its inspectors, adding, he was not aware of such a plan.

The AEOI spokesman said that the source of the news and the purpose behind it is not clear.

Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Ali-Akbar Salehi, has said inspectors from the UN nuclear watchdog will arrive in Iran late January to visit Gachin mine in southern port city of Bandar Abbas.

Meanwhile, Iran and the P5+1 agreed Sunday to implement the Joint Plan of Action as of January 20.
