Tehran, Jan 11, IRNA – Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, by stressing that Iran’s policy is constructive interaction with different countries, underlined that the assumption that Iran’s current policy is the effect of the sanctions is totally a mistake.

According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on Saturday, Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with Chairman of Irish Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade, Pat Breen and his accompanying delegation who are in Tehran.

Referring to the visits of several parliamentary delegations from European countries to Iran since past week, Zarif stressed that the issue indicated both sides' will in the existing political atmosphere for expansion of relations.

He also added that appropriate ground for expansion of cooperation between the two countries exist.

Pat Breen, for his part, said the aim of this visit is expansion of cooperation between Iran and Ireland and expressed hope for promotion of mutual ties.

The other members of the Irish parliamentary delegation expressed their own views on necessity of expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of science and education, Iran and European union ties, noticeable role of women in Iran’s society and developments in the region.
