Berlin food fair to highlight German-made Persian ice cream

Berlin, Jan 11, IRNA - Berlin's food fair is to highlight traditional Persian ice cream treats, produced by a German ice cream company, according to the daily Berliner Zeitung newspaper.

Berlin-based ice cream producer Florida Eis is to unveil eight Persian ice cream flavors, among them safron and pomegranate, at the upcoming food exhibit (January 17-26) in the German capital, dubbed 'Green Week'.

According to the head of Florida Eis, Olaf Hoehn, the 'Green Week' is being used as a test phase to see what kind of Persian ice cream flavors Germans prefer.

At a later stage, Florida Eis plans to mass produce two or three Persian ice cream flavors for the German ice cream market.

The idea of producing ice cream with Persian ingredients was floated by Iranians in Germany, according to Hoehn.
