20 kilograms of explosives used in Beirut blast

Beirut, Jan 3, IRNA – The latest information concerning terrorist blast in Zahyieh in south of Beirut on Thursday afternoon indicates that 20 kilograms of explosives had been used in the blast.

Some news sources have said that the number of the dead has reached 6 persons and more than 70 people have been injured, but Lebanon Health Ministry has underlined that the number of the dead is four.

Lebanon Interior Minister Marwan Charbel has said that the terrorist crime has possibly been a suicide attack.

Some news sources have reported that inside the exploded car, remains of a human body have been found, which shows the attack has been a suicide one.

The Interior Minister said that the used car in the crime had been stolen and the owner of the car had already reported the theft.

The Lebanon Army had declared identifications of the car 10 days ago to the related bodies and had warned about using it in a terrorist attack.
