Pakistani lawmaker urges West to respect Iran’s enrichment right

Islamabad, Nov 8, IRNA – A Pakistani Parliamentarian on Friday said that dialogue is the only way to resolve Iran’s nuclear issue adding that west must respect Iran’s peaceful enrichment right.

Talking to IRNA Senator Abdul Nabi Bangash of Awami National Party (ANP) hailed the continuation of talks between Iran and 5+1 Group, but said that they should be result-orientated.

Iran and six major world powers have started a new round of talks on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear energy program in Geneva, Switzerland.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has said that Iran will enter into talks with seriousness, expressing hope for substantial progress in the discussions.

Senator Abdul Nabi Bangash expressing his views said that though Iran is ready to cooperate with west on their nuclear program but west has to understand that Iran will not step down from their peaceful nuclear right.

The politician added that actual problem in solving Iran’s nuclear issue is the influence of Zionist Regime on the western powers.

He strongly believed that Iran would not compromise their peaceful nuclear right in any case. “Nuclear program is the matter of pride for the Iranian nation,” he noted.

The lawmaker went on to say that Iran has been trying a lot to convince the west that their nuclear program is peaceful and they have no intention of making nuclear bomb.

Abdul Nabi Bangash asked the western states to show some flexibility towards Iran’s peaceful nuclear program as it would be very good for the peace of the region as well as the world.

He said that western states much change in their approach towards Iran is because Iran is a country that cannot be pressurized.

The political leader said that Iran is a signatory of NPT and has every right to develop a nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

The Senator praised the steadfastness of the Iranian people and government regarding their nuclear program. “I think the steadfastness of Iran would ultimately force the US to change its approach towards the Islamic Republic,” said the parliamentarian.

He asked: How come the world is silent over the military-oriented nuclear program of Zionist regime? “They must quit the policy of double standards,” he stressed.

“They want to stop the Muslim nations from developing in the field of nuclear technology and the other advanced fields,” the Senator said.

The previous round of the talks between Iran and the six world powers was held in Geneva on October 15-16.
