Zarif to meet with his French counterpart

Paris, Oct 31, IRNA – French Foreign Ministry’s Spokesman Philippe Lalliot said that Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif is to meet with his French counterpart during his visit to Paris.

To a question concerning Zarif's visit to Paris, Lalliot said that Mr. Zarif is to meet and discuss issues of mutual interest with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius on Tuesday November 5, 2013.

He said that Zarif's visit to Paris is in the framework of UNESCO general conference in its headquarters in France.

The meeting is happening in a time when the next round of talks between Iran and Group 5+1, which France is among them, is taking place in Geneva, soon.

Zarif is to deliver a speech in the UNESCO general conference as the special guest.

Iran’s senior diplomat has been invited by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Director General Irina Bokova, as the special guest, to attend Leaders Forum, which is discussing long-term strategic policies of the UNESCO for the upcoming years.

A number of heads of states as well as some prime ministers of member countries are attending the meeting.
