OIC condemns Saravan terror attack

Tehran, Oct 30, IRNA – Secretary-General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu in a statement on Wednesday strongly condemned an attack on Iranian border guards by militants linked to Jeish ol-Adl terrorist group in the city of Saravan in southwestern province of Sistan and Balouchestan, according to Iran’s envoy to OIC, Hamid Dehqani.

Dehqani told IRNA that Ihsanoglu, in his statement, expressed his regret over the incident, sympathizing with the families of the victims.

He has also called for culprits of this terrorist action to be brought to justice, said the Iranian ambassador to the Jeddah-based organization.

Terrorists coming from Pakistan killed 14 borderguards and wounded six others in an attack on Friday night in the city of Saravan along Pakistani border and escaped to Pakistan afterwards.
