Sixth Int’l Naval Industries Exhibition of Iran Opens in Kish

Kish, Oct 30, IRNA – The 6th International Naval Industries Exhibition of Iran was opened in Persian Gulf Island of Kish on Tuesday in the presence of Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan at Kish International Exhibitions Center.

Also present at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, there were deputy roads and rural development minister, head of Ports and Shipping Organization, Kish Free Trade Zone (KFTZ) officials, and naval industries activists.

The Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistical Affairs Brigadier General Dehqan and his accompanying delegation after visiting the various parts of the exhibition said that the country’s naval industries must expand and get stronger with the passage of each new day.

The secretary of the 6th International Naval Industries Exhibition of Iran told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on the sideline of the exhibition, “Some 120 companies have participated in the Naval Exhibition in an area that is vaster than 4,500 square meters.

Peyman Mas’oudzadeh said that the sanctions were one of the obstacles in the way of the naval industries’ development. He expressed hope that with the approach of the 11th government and the practical moves, the ground would be paved for national growth and development in this sector as well.

He said, “We believe sustainable development of Iran will not be possible without paying attention to the pivotal role of the naval industries in creating jobs, and contributing to security, tourism, fisheries, and transportations, and it is hoped that the Naval Industries Exhibition will be an effective step in this way.”

The Sixth International Naval Industries and Sailing Exhibition of Iran is being held simultaneously with the Fifteenth Naval Industries Conference as of Tuesday in Kish Island and will be open for visitors until November 1st, every day from 6 to 10 pm.
