Iran offers new proposal to IAEA Chief

Vienna, Oct 28, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister and member of Iran's nuclear negotiating team, Abbass Araghchi, said on Monday that Iran has offered new proposal to the IAEA Director General Yukia Amano.

Speaking to IRNA, Araqchi said in his talks with Amano he had offered him Iran’s new proposal.

He said, “The negotiating teams of Iran and the IAEA are scheduled to draw up a new framework for cooperation after his talks with Amano.”

Saying that his talks with Amano had been “very positive and constructive”, Araqchi said that in the talks full explanations were given about the new approach.

“In talks with Amano it was also emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran is interested in widening the scope of its cooperation with the IAEA.”

"In the talks we announced Iran’s readiness to address all questions and ambiguities of the IAEA in a short period of time," said Araqchi, adding that this would be possible only if Iran and the IAEA take a new and forward-looking approach.

The new round of Iran-IAEA talks are now going on in the IAEA headoffice in Vienna.
