Araqchi: Iran, IAEA should enter into talks with new approach

Vienna, Oct 28, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister and member of Iran's nuclear negotiating team Abbass Araqchi told the IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano in Vienna on Monday that Iran and the IAEA should enter nuclear talks with a new approach.

Amano, terming the Monday talks as “very important”, said the negotiations between Iran and the IAEA aim to find solution to the remaining questions.

Noting that Iran-IAEA talks are complicated and time-intensive, Amano hoped that through mutual cooperation the two sides would find a solution.

Araqchi went on to say that the time has come for Iran and the IAEA to adopt a new strategy.

Emphasizing the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program, Araqchi said the IAEA plays a key role in this regard.

Iran’s ambassador and permanent envoy to the IAEA Reza Najafi and number two man in Iran’s permanent representative office in Vienna Blourian are present in the meeting underway behind closed doors at the IAEA office.
