Brazilian MP sees remarkable chances for expanding ties with Iran

Tehran, Oct 28, IRNA – Member of Brazil’s National Congress Claudio Zagado said both Iranian and Brazilian parliaments witness new remarkable opportunities to expand ties.

He made the remarks here on Monday in a meeting with the Iranian head of Iran-Brazil parliamentary friendship group Abdolreza Mesri.

The Brazilian envoy voiced readiness of his parliament to promote ties with Iran in political, industrial, economic and technological areas.

He stressed that the Brazilian foreign policy is based on respect for the will of nations, avoiding interference in domestic affairs of other countries and trying to solve problems among countries through peaceful means.

Mesri stressed the right of the Iranian nation to pursue peaceful use of nuclear energy and said this is the focal point of discussions with the 5+1.

He said West and hegemonic powers are using double standards in dealing with issues pertaining to the nuclear technology.

He also voiced the readiness of Iran-Brazil parliamentary friendship group to develop bilateral relations.
