First round of Iran-G5+1 nuclear talks ends

Geneva, Oct 15, IRNA – The first round of Iran-G5+1 nuclear talks ended after two hours of intensive negotiations and powerpoint presentation of new proposal by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Zarif led Iranian team and the EU foreign policy chief Catherin Ashton led the team of representatives from US, France, UK, China and Russia plus Germany.

Iran’s proposed plan, entitled, “An End to An Unnecessary Crisis; a Prelude to New Horizons”.

Deputy Foreign Minister and spokesman of the Iranian team Abbass Araqchi said that the morning session focused on outlines of Iranian proposals and that the afternoon meeting is scheduled to go to details by deputy foreign ministers in absence of Zarif and Ms. Ashton.
