Iran ready to organize, equip Namibian Navy: Commander

Tehran, Oct 8, IRNA – Iran’s Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari voiced Iran’s readiness to train, organize and equip the Namibian naval force.

Talking to reporters after a meeting with his Namibian counterpart, Peter Vilho, he added that they discussed various issues such as the needs of the African state’s navy in different areas.

Sayyari also expressed his preparedness to visit Namibia in the future.

Vilho expressed pleasure with his Iran visit and said that he was very interested in holding talks with the Iranian navy commander and making use of the force’s experience.

Given the fact that certain countries are suffering from sea piracy, cooperation among their navies will bring about security, he said.
