Interior minister stresses fight against narcotics trafficking

Tehran, Oct 5, IRNA – Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli called on all world countries to help fight narcotics trafficking because presently Iran is shouldering the responsibly by itself.

The minister who is also the head of Anti-Narcotics Headquarters made the remarks here on Saturday in a meeting with the Algerian Police Chief, General Abdulhamid al-Ghani.

Referring to numerous common points shared by the two nations, he hoped bilateral ties would further increase in economic, investment and anti-drugs fields.

Noting that Iran is the first victim of narcotics, the minister said that Iran has suffered much and sacrificed greatly to fight against the transportation of drugs from its production spots in Afghanistan to other parts of the world.

The Algerian official said he is in Tehran to help promote bilateral relations.

He further called for more cooperation between the two countries on exchange of information and experiences.
