Iran portrays dynamic diplomcy in NY, expert

Moscow, Oct 5, IRNA – A Russian political expert stressed on Saturday that Iran’s diplomatic apparatus portrayed a dynamic diplomacy in New York.

Director General of the Center for Studies of Modern Iran in Russia Rajab Safarov made the remarks in a local gathering in Moscow.

The Iranian President Hassan Rohani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, during the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, proved to the world that the Islamic Republic of Iran has the capacity to defend its interests in any circumstances, he emphasized.

“Thanks to efforts made by President Rohani and Zarif, we witnessed the decrease in tensions between Iran and US last week,” he added.

A large number of high-ranking officials of several countries including US Secretary of State John Kerry voiced their willingness to hold talks with Iranian officials in New York, the Russian expert said.

Safarov underlined that the Iranian delegate participated in 60 high-level meetings in New York aimed at fostering all-out ties between Iran and other countires.
