The exposition is being held in an area of 260,000 square meters, IRNA reported.
A total of 6,300 production companies from 85 countries are taking part in the exhibition.
The event is expected to attract more than 150,000 visitors.
Fifteen Iranian food companies, which are among the country’s exemplary exporters of pistachios, almonds, dates, raisins, figs and saffron, are participating in the exhibition.
Iran’s pavilion is located in the main hall of the expo.
After the expo’s inaugural ceremony, Iranian Ambassador to France Ali Ahani, Managing Director of Iran International Exhibitions Company Hossein Esfahbodi and the Iranian economic attaché to Paris visited the Iranian pavilion. The exhibition will continue until October 23.
SIAL Paris is a trade fair held every two years, which specializes in food processing industry. This event was first held in 1964 in Paris.
The fair’s visitors come from various sectors of the food processing industry, such as distribution, trade, food services, viticulture, etc. Some 70 percent of the visitors visit the fair in search of new products and suppliers.
Each time the fair takes place, almost 50 tons of products are collected and redistributed to French Red Cross centers in Seine-Saint-Denis. In addition, the fair also processes organic waste.
