Ambassador urges Muslims to continue support for Palestine

Beirut, July 31, IRNA – Iranian ambassador to Tunisia Peyman Jebelli has urged the world Muslims to never stop supporting innocent people of Palestine, the Gazans in particular.

The issue of Palestine and the support for the Palestinian nation should be the top priority of the world Muslims, Jebelli wrote in an article appeared on Thursay in the Tunisian mass circulated newspaper, al-Sabah.

The ambassador lashed out at huge massacre and genocide underway in the besieged Gaza Strip by the Zionist regime which have, so far, left about 1,400 dead and near 8,000 injured.

He urged Muslim nations and governments to get unified to support Palestinians against atrocities made by the Zionist occupiers.

The ambassador noted that support for the Palestinian resistance is a humanitarian, moral and Islamic duty above all national and ethnic concerns.

Jebelli criticized certain regional leaders for making no efforts to stop Israeli aggression in fear of upsetting Western supporters of the Zionist regime.

Israel has started its savage offensive on the Gaza Strip since July 8. Three weeks of heavy bombardments have killed over 1,300 Palestinians, mostly civilians, and wounded more than 7000. The assault has left many thousands displaced.
