Abdollahian asks Cairo to expedite permitting Iranian flight

Tehran, July 30, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Wednesday that Cairo's delay in issuance permission for shipment of Iranian aid to Gaza is not acceptable.

Abdollahian told IRNA, "Cairo's long delay in issuing license for the flight carrying Iranian food and medicine aid to Gaza through Egypt is not acceptable."

He asked related Cairo officials to expedite issuing the license.

He added that the first group of injured in Gaza includes 57 babies, children and the women who suffer from severe injuries and wait entry of Iranian flight to Egypt and their immediate transfer to Tehran for treatment.

He noted that the first consignment of Iranian humanitarian aid, weighing 100 tons, and the list of Palestinian injured ready for transfer to Iran have been put at the disposal of Egyptian foreign ministry and Egypt's interest section in Tehran since a few days ago but no license for the flight has yet been issued.

He hoped that Egypt will act on its humanitarian, historical, Islamic and Arab responsibility in the face of Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza and immediately open Rafah crossing for transfer of medicine and food and not to remain lenient further.
