Supreme Leader asks Muslims to rush aid to oppressed Palestinians

Tehran, July 29, IRNA – Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday called on all Muslims to rush help to the oppressed people of Palestine.

Addressing hundreds of officials and people from various walks of life as well as ambassadors and charge d'affairs of Muslim countries on the occasion of the auspicious Eid-ul-Fitr (Fast breaking feast) here on Tuesday, Ayatollah Khamenei said Muslim governments should set aside political and non-political differences to help the oppressed in Gaza.

The Ayatollah said, "Setting aside differences, the world of Islam should use all its potential to meet needs of the people of Gaza and while countering impudent crimes of Zionists, Muslim world should voice hatred and disavow of Zionist allies, especially the US and the UK."

Congratulating all Muslim nations on Fitr feast, Ayatollah Khamenei said, "Unfortunately, contrary to Islamic injunctions, today political and power mongering motivations have divided Muslim Ummah."

The Supreme Leader invited Muslim countries' officials to set aside such motivations and opt for establishment of a united, powerful and capable Ummah. "If power mongering, dependences and corruptions fail to divide the world of Islam, no arrogant power would dare to invade and make aggression on Muslim countries or seek ransom from them."

Saying that Zionists' impudence in massacring people in Gaza is the result of rift in the world of Islam, Ayatollah Khamenei said secret censorship in the west does not allow western nations to be informed of the depth of Gaza events. "The crimes are so heinous and heart rending that reflection of even part of it by the western media has shocked non-Muslim nations and brought them to streets."

The Supreme Leader said, "Our clear message to Muslim governments is to rise up to assist the oppressed people and show that the world of Islam will not keep silent in face of tyranny and injustice. To meet the goal, Muslim governments should ignore political and non-political differences and get united in rushing aid to the oppressed who are in clutches of the blood soaking Zionist wolves."

The Supreme Leader said open support of arrogant, including the US and the UK, and the explicit or implicit confirmation of Zionists' crimes by the international communities, including the UN, is complicity in the crimes of the blood soaking regime.

"Muslim nations and Muslim governments have the duty to disavow of allies and supporters of the criminals ruling over Tel Aviv and economically and politically confront them if possible," he added.

While praising Iranian nation's firm determination to explicitly support Gaza people and stand aggression and dirty actions, the Supreme Leader said that on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadhan, the world people heard an outcry in support of the oppressed Palestinian people from Iran.

The Ayatollah said the Iranian nation will firmly extend such kinds of support and any other work they can do.

Prior to the Supreme Leader's speech President Hassan Rouhani addressed the audience.

Ayatollah Khamenei said two basic duties should be put on agenda of the world of Islam: One is preparation of vital facilities for Gaza people and second is showing powerful and proper reaction against the murderer Zionist regime and its allies.

Referred to the pressing need of the people of Gaza to food, water, medicine, hospital facilities and reconstruction of houses, the Supreme Leader said the nation needs arms also to defend itself.

Again addressing to Muslim governments, Ayatollah Khamenei said, "Let's join hands and aid Gaza people and overcome the obstacles Zionists are hurling on the way; let's get united in fulfilling our religious and humanitarian duties."

Saying that confrontation against the historical tyrannical agents of Gaza is the second duty of the world of Islam , the Paramount Leader said the Zionist criminals and their allies impudently justify their hateful and shocking genocide and child killing in Gaza, which is the extreme point of hostility and shamelessness.
