Zarif, Nasrullah call for lifting Gaza siege

Tehran, July 27, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrullah in a telephone conversation on Sunday underlined the need for fulfillment of Gazans' demands, especially removal of siege on defenseless inhabitants.

In the phone conversation, they also discussed the latest regional developments including the humanitarian disaster in Gaza Strip.

Expressing concern over ethnic tension in the region and disputative measures aimed at weakening the Muslim World, the two officials called on the Muslim nations to exercise vigilance and solidarity to foil the sedition and move towards securing Islamic nations' interests.

Zarif recalled the Supreme Leader's remarks in support of resistance movement to the Zionist regime's aggressions as well as President Hassan Rouhani's special order for stopping human catastrophe in Gaza on the threshold of International Qods Day.

"Iran supports Palestinian nation's legitimate demands and the Muslim world's vigilance is a must for the fulfillment of the Palestinians' demands," Zarif said.

He voiced Iran's full readiness to dispatch relief and medical supplies to Gaza.

Nassrullah hailed the Supreme Leader's recent remarks in support of the resistance movement to Israeli occupation, underlining the need for the Palestinian groups to stand united under the current sensitive juncture.

"Barbaric attacks on Gaza Strip created a catastrophic human crisis which is a stark example of war crimes against humanity," he said.

Appreciating Iran's principled stance at the regional and international levels, Nasrullah said that effective regional and international potentials should be mobilized to oblige the occupying regime to stop the crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Zionists.
