Hafez album released in France

Tehran, July 27, IRNA - Iranian musician and vocalist Sadeq Sheikhzadeh has released a music album in honor of the renowned classical Persian poet Hafez Shirazi.

The album, composed by Pouya Saraei, features Persian melodious and rhythmic songs to commemorate one of the influential oriental poets.

The pieces are inspired by some of Hafez’ rhymes, Sheikhzadeh said.

It includes three songs in Shour, Turkish Bayat, Kurdish Bayat as well as santour duets in Nava musical systems ‘(dastgah) in Persian.

Sheikhzade was recently presented with the Khayyam Prestigious Award of the French Frédéric Lenormand Institute.

The album will be soon published in Iran.

Hafez works are regarded as the pinnacle of Persian literature and are to be found in the homes of most people who learn his poems by heart and use them as proverbs and sayings to this day. His life and poems have been the subject of much analysis, commentary and interpretation, influencing post-fourteenth century Persian writing more than any other author.
