Iran shares sufferings of the Palestinian people, FM calls resistance movement leaders

Tehran, July 23, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed the latest developments in Gaza in separate phone calls Tuesday night with Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal and leader of Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement Ramadan Abdullah.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said that the foreign minister's telephone conversations with the Palestinian leaders was aimed to review the situation on the ground in the besieged Gaza Strip as Israel continues with disproportionate bombardment of civilian targets in Gaza from the air, land and the sea which have claimed over 500 lives since July 8.

According to a Hamas statement, during his conversation with Khaled Mashaal, Zarif renewed Iran's support for the Palestinian nation and their resistance to the Zionist occupation.

Meanwhile, Khaled Mashaal reiterated that the Palestinian nation is at the highest level of readiness and stability and will continue to protect itself against the war machine of the Zionist regime.

He said the Palestinians are determined to stand against the aggression of the occupying regime of Qods and put and end to the blockade of Gaza Strip.
