FM official urges speedy release of abducted diplomat in Sana'a

Tehran, July 21, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Iran expected speedy release of its diplomat abducted in Sana'a, Yemen.

He made the remarks while talking to IRNA here on Monday.

He said the prolonged procedure of the release of the kidnapped diplomat, Nour Ahmad Nikbakht, is not acceptable for Tehran.

Asked to comment on the fate of the diplomat, he said he was in healthy conditions, stressing that Iran was not happy with lengthy process of his release.

Nikbakht was kidnapped in Yemen a year ago by extremist militants.
