Iran grabs six medals in South Korea Taekwondo Championship

Tehran, July 16, IRNA – Iran's taekwondo team won six gold, one silver and one bronze medals in cadet and senior age groups during South Korea Open Taekwondo Championship.

The five-day competitions involving 1,770 athletes opened in Gyeongju on Friday.

Gold winners in senior age bracket include Farzan Ashourzadeh, Mehdi Khodabakhshi and Ahmad Mohammadi while silver medalist in the same category is Aboulfazl Yaqoubi.

Alireza Nasrazadani grabbed bronze medal in senior age group.

Kimiya Alizadeh, Mehdi Es'haqi and Daniyal Salehi-Mehr all won gold medals in cadet age bracket.

At the end of the competitions, Technical Committee declared Bijan Moqanlou as the best coach in South Korea Open Taekwondo Competitions while Farzan Ashouri, winner of gold medal in minus 58 kilograms, was selected as the technical athlete.
