Resistance to further cement unity among Palestinians, envoy

Tehran, July 15, IRNA – Palestine's Ambassador to Tehran Salah Zawawi said here on Tuesday that resistance would further consolidate national unity of the Palestinian nation.

Addressing Majlis open session this morning, he said the Gaza events were certainly the beginning of a great victory for the Palestinians and failure of the West's conspiracies.

The Iranian parliament dedicated its Tuesday morning session to representatives of the Palestinian nation residing in Tehran to talk on the current situation in Gaza.

The Palestinian representatives included those of the Islamic Resistance Movement of Palestine Khalid al-Qodumi and of the Islamic Jihad, Nasser Abu-Sharif, as well as Ambassador Zawawi.

Briefing the MPs on the recent developments in the occupied lands and the Zionist regime's crimes against defenseless people in Gaza, Zawawi regretted that the atrocities are taking place in the holy month of Ramdan when Muslims break their fasts in the memory of the displaced Palestinians.

He said Palestinians are paying dearly for the US and Zionist plots against Islam and their country.

He noted that the brave Palestinians were subject to arrest and massacre in the West Bank.

Praising bravery of the Palestinians, Zawawi said they even fired back the Zionist regime's air attacks while confronting its atrocities.

He further criticized inaction of international circles regarding the Zionist regime's savage crimes, adding that those organizations which have adopted silence towards the Israeli crimes have been defending the killers instead of the killed ones and the culprits with vivid signs of crimes instead of the victims.

Zawawi reiterated that no cities, villages or settlements can now escape the Palestinian Resistance attacks, stressing that no inhabitant of the occupied lands are now safe from attacks of planes, missiles and military operations of the resistance groups.
