Tehran, July 14, IRNA -- Concurrent with World Tourism Day, the First National Tourism Festival will open in Tehran on Sept. 27, said the deputy head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO).

Morteza Rahmani added that the festival will revolve around tourism’s interactions with global management, national will, local communities, cyberspace, transportation, family, culture, creativity, economy and media.

Rahmani noted that the festival will also focus on the impacts of tourism on employment, development, youth, training, communications, security, environment, lifestyle, handicrafts and cultural heritage.

“Experts and lecturers will study and discuss the above-mentioned issues,” he said.

The official also said the festival will feature various types of works, including short film, documentary, photography and blogging.

Rahmani said the festival is an opportunity for private and state-run sectors to introduce their tourism potentials and capacities

Those interested can send their works to the festival until Aug. 22, which will be judged in the Iranian month ending Sept. 22.

The selected works will be announced on Sept. 27 and displayed for the public. They will also be published in the form of a book.
