Astan Qods hosts rare Holy Qur’an

Mashhad, July 14, IRNA - A hand-written copy of the Holy Qur’an, pertaining to Imam Ali (PBUH), the first Shia Imam, is on display at the Astan Qods Razavi Foundation in Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi province.

The book is inscribed in the Kufi calligraphy style on a deer hide in the first century A.H., wrote Monday's edition of the English-language paper, 'Iran Daily'.

The book, along with a collection of manuscripts and lithography books, are on display in an exhibition at the foundation’s central library from July 13-22, 2014.

The manuscripts include a copy of the ‘Najh ul-Balagheh’, a book of maxims by Imam Ali (PBUH).

Astan Qods Razavi Foundation is the custodian of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH), the eighth Imam of the infallible household of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
