Convergence only way for Iraq political parties to overcome terrorism

Ardabil, July 12, IRNA – An Iranian parliamentarian said on Saturday that convergence is the only way for the Iraqi political parties to end the dilemma of Daesh terror group.

Deputy Chairman Majlis Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mansour Haqiqatpour said in an interview with IRNA that the current situation in Iraq has been created by Daesh terror group because of lack of political convergence and failure to mobilize the Iraqi national capacity to thwart menaces of terrorism.

He said that any kind of political understanding among political groups will undermine the Daesh terrorists.

Pointing out that terrorists have been paralyzed in three Iraqi provinces, he said that terrorism will be driven out of Iraq and the balance will gradually change in benefit of the government.

He said that the western governments and particularly the United States are now determined to transfer war and hostility to the Muslim countries instead of waging direct wars.

"Following the Afghan war, the United States has learned to exploit extremist and terror groups to their own interests."

The parliamentarian further said that certain regional governments too are unfortunately supporting such war-mongering and terror groups forcing Muslims to confront their own fellow brothers.

He said that Daesh is the offspring of an English environment and that like the way they failed io Syria, they will have no victory in Iraq either.
