NIGC produces gas, more than planned

Tehran, July 12, IRNA - The National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) has produced 460 mcm of gas more than planned, said a deputy head of NIGC.

Abdol-Hossein Samari said Bidboland Gas Refinery delivered 12 mcm/d more gas to Iran gas trunklines and Fajr Jam refinery’s extra contribution was 6 mcm/d, SHANA reported on Saturday.

He added that an extra 4 mcm/d gas will be drawn from the Shourijeh storage facility this year. Plans are under way for drawing 10 mcm/d, Samari said.

The NIGC has to complete some infrastructure projects in order to benefit from 80-100 mcm/d gas production from South Pars gas field’s phases, said the official.

He said that 90 mcm/d of gas is currently being delivered to industrial plants in the country, adding that industries and power plants are facing no gas supply shortage.
