Gov't appreciates Supreme Leader's support

Tehran, July 9, IRNA – Government spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht said on Wednesday that President Hassan Rouhani's administration has appreciated the firm support extended by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for the Iranian government.

Addressing a group of senior Iranian officials on July 7, the Leader expressed his full and firm support for and trust in the government of President Rouhani and his negotiating team.

Nobakht said that the government would try to seriously follow up guidelines of the Leader, particularly those in the field of economy.

"Government is determined to seriously follow up policies set by the Supreme Leader, particularly the Economy of Resistance policy and policies to make ultimate use of domestic potentials to escape the current state of recession, especially in mining and agriculture fields." Nobakht told reporters at the end of a cabinet session today.

To this end, he added, the cabinet approved a four-billion-dollar budget for South Pars projects in southern Iran and another four-billion-dollar budget for constructing three power plants in the country.

He said that the ministers also approved a three-billion-dollar budget for the upstream industries in oil sector and another two-billion-dollar for further activating Iran's steel production line.

According to the spokesman, two billion dollars were also allocated to refineries and petrochemical sector, one billion dollar to transportation, 500 billion dollars to agriculture and 1.6 billion dollars to other industries.
