Kamalvandi: Iran rules out limits on R&D

Tehran, July 8, IRNA – Spokesman for Iran's Atomic Energy Organization Behrouz Kamalvandi said on Tuesday that Iran does not accept any limits to the research and development in nuclear technology.

G5+1 is raising media hype about its own preferences which reflects no reality, he said.

He criticized the European nuclear negotiators for publicizing their own views about the technical aspects of the Iranian nuclear program, and said that Iran has adopted a crystal clear, logical and defensible stand in nuclear talks.

He said that they seek to create doubts on Iran's peaceful nuclear program through propaganda and the media hype.

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in his meeting with the country's officials on Monday night warned the officials not to make miscalculation to this end.

Since our stand on nuclear program is clear, the negotiating team should make a significant political decision at this sensitive juncture, he said.

"We can remove political concerns of the other side although they opted for illogical approach," he said.

"If we assume that their concerns are nothing more than a pretext to prevent Iran's advances in nuclear technology, we will not tolerate it," he said.

"I believe that Iran has conducted a very logical and successful approach during nuclear talks," he said.
