IFCO meet focuses on reducing greenhouse emission

Tehran July 7, IRNA - Reducing greenhouse emissions in Iran was the major focus of an expert meeting of Petroleum Ministry’s energy committee.

During the meeting, which was chaired by Nosratollah Seifi, managing-director of the Iranian Fuel Conservation Organization (IFCO), the committee sought ways to reduce greenhouse emission and its effects on environment as its main objective, SHANA reported on Monday.

The Project Panel has been set up within the framework of Energy Committee of the Ministry of Petroleum to pursue implementation of the ministry’s duties regarding climate change.

Officials who attend the Project Panel meetings, which are routinely held in IFCO include representatives from the Ministry of Petroleum, the Tehran-based International Institute for Energy Studies (IIES), the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIODPC), Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) and the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry.
