Iranian artists awarded in Georgia

Tehran, July 6, IRNA -- Iranian 'Ravak' music ensemble has been honored in Georgia Folk Festival.

The group's supervisor and vocalist, Mohammad Reza Davoudi said the group came first in the Nations Music section, and third in the overall category.

Monday edition of the English language newspaper Iran Daily wrote that artists from Hungary, Georgia, Lithuania, Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Ukraine and Armenia took part in the festival.

"Part of our work included reciting old Persian pieces. We also performed alterations of some of compositions by famous musician Hossein Alizadeh," he said.

Instrumentalists include: Arash Ahmadi Nassab (composer), Siavash Ahmadi Nassab (kamancheh), Pourya Khorshidi (tonbak, daf, kouzeh) and Mohsen Keyvan (santour).

'Ravak' is a newly-established music ensemble that hoped to perform a domestic concert in the future.
