Persian-speaking poets to hold conference

Tehran, July 6, IRNA -- The First International Conference on Persian-Speaking Poets will be held in Tehran and Isfahan.

The three-day event, organized by the Arts Bureau's (Hozeh Honari) Artistic Creations Center, is slated for July 13-15, 2014.

Twenty Persian-language poets from Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, India, Pakistan and Russia will take part in the event.

They will meet the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on July 13 and attend the event's opening ceremony in Isfahan the following day.

Poetry recitation sessions are scheduled in the event while a ceremony will be held to commemorate the achievements of Farzaneh Kojandi, a celebrated Tajik poet.

Iranian poets attending the gala, include Ali Moallem Damghani, Seyyed Ali Mousavi Garmaroudi, Yusef Ali Mirshakkak, Nasser Feiz, Fazel Nazari, Saeid Biabanaki and Mohammad Hossein Jafarian.

The conference aims to help foster Persian language through interactions with Persian-speaking poets of other nations.
