Alireza Soleimani Karbalaei was an Iranian super heavyweight freestyle wrestler born in Tehran.
He was the first and still the only Iranian to win the gold medal in the super heavy weight of freestyle wrestling. He won the medal at the World Championship 1989 against Bruce Baumgartner. He was the flag bearer of the Iranian Olympic Team at the 1992 Summer Olympic Games.
Soleimani was also a champion in Pahlevani Wrestling.
