Toy bomb kills two children in NW Pakistan

Islamabad, Jan 30, IRNA -- Two children were killed Thursday when a toy bomb exploded in Pakistan’s north western tribal region, officials said.

Political administration officials said a toy-like bomb was found at the roadside by children in Zakakhel Bazaar of Landi kotal in Khyber Agency. They were playing with it when it exploded, killing them on the spot.

Khyber is part of Pakistan’s semi-autonomous tribal belt on the Afghan border.

The Taliban and other Al Qaeda-linked groups, who stage attacks in both countries, are known to have strongholds in the zone.
