Iran elected vice-president of Group 77 with FAO

Rome, Jan 27, IRNA – Group 77 developing nations elected Iran vice-president of the alliance for the year 2014 with the Food and Agriculture Organization.

Iran won the position on yes votes of ambassadors of Group 77 developing nations alliance.

The G77 comprises 132 members, being the biggest inter-governmental organization of the developing nations among the UN member states.

Iran won presidency of G77 with FAO in 2010 for the first time since the alliance emerged.

Meanwhile, Iranian Permanent Representative to FAO Aminollah Taqavi said that Iran will take the presidency of Group 77 developing nations with FAO in 2015 on a rotating basis.
