Violence claims 13 lives in Pakistan

Islamabad, Jan 27, IRNA - At least 13 people have been killed in different incidents of violence in Pakistan, local media reported on Monday.

At least 10 people have lost lives in shooting and other violence related incidents in port city of Karcahi.

Targeted operation carried out by rangers and police resulted in the arrest of 81 suspects -- 12 of which belonged to a banned outfit -- and recovery of heavy weapons and ammunition.

Rangers captured 12 suspects after sieging Malir Murghi Khana and Qaidabad. Police arrested 6 suspected Taliban militants and recovered ammunition. Another targeted operation in Quyyumabad resulted in capturing of another 60 suspects.

Meanwhile three persons were killed in north western city of Peshawar. According to police unidentified men opened fire on some persons in Budbher area of the city killing three and injuring two.
