Iran deplores terrorist attack against Pakistani pilgrims

Tehran, Jan 22, IRNA - Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham on Wednesday expressed deep regret at terrorist attack against Pakistani pilgrims on their way back home from Iran after paying pilgrimage to Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine in Mashhad.

Some 22 pilgrims died and 24 others were wounded in a terrorist attack in the Pakistani province of Balochistan. They fell victim to the terrorists in Pakistan on way back home from Iran.

Expressing condolence to the bereaved families, she prayed to God to bestow patience on the families and for immediate recovery of those wounded.

She said that the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns any type of terrorist acts against innocent people.

Such attacks have been masterminded by the enemies of Islam, she said adding that it is incumbent upon respective governments to take strong action to inhibit such unmanly crimes.
