Iran sets up fact-finding committee in region: deputy FM

Tehran, Jan 22, IRNA - Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and Africa Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said here on Wednesday that Iran has set up a fact-finding committee in the region to study the role of Saudi Arabia and Yemen in supporting the extremist and terrorist groups.

Talking to IRNA, Amir-Abdollahian underlined that if involvement of Saudi Arabia and Yemen in the recent terrorist operations were confirmed, Iran would certainly follow up the case through international organizations.

Due to Iran's diplomatic achievements in regional and international arenas, certain states are trying to hit Iran through supporting the Takfiri groups and assassinating Iranian diplomats, he added.

The recent terrorist attacks in Lebanon and Yemen targeting the Iranians are aimed at damaging the effective role of Iran in regional developments, the diplomat reiterated.
