Supreme Leader: All should confront factors of disunity

Tehran, Jan 19, IRNA – Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Sunday called on Muslims to confront any factor of disunity, saying that’s a big duty of all.

“Muslims should confront any factor of disunity. This is a big duty for us. We Muslims have the duty to reach the freedom favored by Islam. That’s what will save nations,” said the Supreme Leader in an address to a group of officials and foreign guests to the Islamic Unity Conference.

The Supreme Leader said the world of arrogance has for 65 years been trying to put Palestine name into oblivion but to no avail.

The Ayatollah said today Muslim nations feel they need such a move and eventually the move will undoubtedly bear fruit.

“In the 33-, 22- and eight-day Gaza wars Muslim Ummah showed that it is alive and it succeeded to slap the forged and imposed Zionist system in the face despite the US investment. Muslims should confront any factor of disunity; that’s a big duty for us. Both Shiites and Sunnis should accept this; unity means reliance on commonalties.”

The grand Ayatollah said the religious, political and scientific elite have the duty to forge unity. “The most important issue of today is unity. The aim of religious democracy is implementing divine rule. The political elite should know that their dignity and fame lies in people not foreigners.”
