Book fair kicks off in Pakistan to mark Islamic Unity Week

Islamabad, Jan 18, IRNA – A book fair on the occasion of the Islamic Unity Week, marking the birth anniversaries of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S) has kicked off at Jamia Imam Sadiq Islamabad.

On the occasion Noor-ul-Huda Qari group of Tehran recited versus of Holy Quran and Naats. Pakistani people took special interest in the program and participated in a large number.

The Islamic Unity Week was initiated by the late Imam Khomeini following the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979. Since its inception, the Islamic Unity Week has been marked annually, not only in Iran, but also throughout the world, and has played an important role in bringing various Islamic Schools of Thought on a single platform.

Talking to IRNA on Saturday, Dr Taqi Sadiqi, Cultural Counselor of Iran said that the Cultural Consulate has been observing Islamic Unity Week in Pakistan with the help of Pakistani brothers.

He added that this year an Iranian Qari group is visiting Pakistan to participate in the programs organized with a reference of Islamic Unity Week.

He said that the group would recite Holy Quran on the occasion of birth anniversaries of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S) at Iranian residential complex in diplomatic enclave.

Allama Sheikh Najafi, leader of Friday prayers at Jamia Imam Sadiq at the book fair welcomed the Iranian guests.

Noor-ul-Huda Qari group would perform in the programs of Such TV and Hadi Tv and they would recite Holy Quran in some conferences to mark the Islamic Unity Week.

Earlier the Qari group, comprising Mustafa Khazeb, Mohammad Karimi, Behzad Ahmedi and Hesam Guzli had practiced in the programs of Shia and Ahle Sunnat community in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The group has also participated in a program organized at Madrasa Mohamamd Baqir Sadr in Rawalpindi.
