Iran, Lebanon examine ways of promoting judicial cooperation

Beirut, Jan 16,IRNA – Lebanese Justice Minister Shakib Qortabawi said on Thursday that his country is ready to fully cooperate with Tehran in the investigation into the bomb explosions near Iran's Embassy in Beirut.

Speaking to reporters after his meeting with a Iranian judicial delegation, he said Lebanon strongly condemns terrorist crimes against Lebanese nationals as well as other nationals irrespective of their religions or tribal affiliations.

The Lebanese minister said in the meeting with the Iranian delegation that the two sides reviewed expansion of judicial cooperation.

Iran's Deputy Justice Minister Abdolali Mirkuhi also told reporters that during the meetings with Lebanese officials, Tehran appreciated them for their probe into the bomb explosions in front of Iran's Embassy in Beirut.

Close cooperation between the two countries led to identification of those masterminding the attack and arrest of its main culprit, Mirkuhi said.

After bomb explosions, Iran officially called for bilateral cooperation with the Lebanese judicial official as well as the country's security forces in the probe into the case.
