Pakistan Air Force jet crashes

Islamabad, Jan 16, IRNA -- A Mirage aircraft of Pakistan Air Force crashed in eastern Punjab province on Thursday, state media reported.

Radio Pakistan quoted PAF spokesperson as saying that pilot and co-pilot of the plane were killed in the crash in Qadirabad area of Mandi Bahauddin District, 200 km from provincial capital Lahore.

The jet had taken off from Sargodha airbase for a routine training flight. The cause of the crash could not immediately be ascertained.

A board has been formed for further investigation about Mirage fighter aircraft’s incident.
